Sqwerv is a Denver rock quartet formed in 2017 out of the city's open-jam community, with the players meeting through the CU Denver music program. The band is Guy Frydenlund on guitar, Jack Marty on keys, Caden Kramer on bass and Zach Bulgarelli on drums, and it plays original improvisational rock drawing on psychedelia, funk and classic rock, citing Phish and the Grateful Dead within a contemporary indie-rock frame and describing itself as an everything-rock group. It released two full-length albums in 2024: Hors d'Oeuvres, recorded in the band's living-room studio and gathered in June from a run of EPs issued across that year, and Mirage, a seven-track set cut at The Keep Recording in Denver and released in September with a show at Cervantes' Other Side. A six-song EP, Wonder, followed, pressed in a limited run of 500 vinyl copies and led by the single Keep On Moving. Sqwerv toured nationally behind that record beginning in January 2026, playing more than twenty cities over three months including The Mint in Los Angeles and Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco, and returned in the fall with dates that included Brooklyn Bowl and West Coast shows with Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. The band has shared stages with George Clinton and worked up an onstage collaboration with Andy Frasco, and it plays the festival circuit, with appearances at Northlands Music and Arts Festival, Beanstalk Music Festival and Rhythms on the Rio and a Jam Cruise debut booked for February 2027. It documents its touring in a running series of live albums released through Bandcamp and stages an annual Halloween homecoming run in Denver.
