Waylon Wyatt

americana · folk · roots

Waylon Wyatt, born Waylon Wyatt Potter on October 16, 2006, is an American country and Americana singer-songwriter from Hackett, Arkansas. He wrote his first song at six, was drawn initially to rap, and found country music through YouTube at fifteen; he describes his own sound as a mix of country, red dirt, folk and Americana and has said he wants little production on his records, preferring a raw presentation. He took up guitar as a child in tribute to his older brother Dylan, a guitarist who died by suicide, and later wrote the song Phoning Heaven about that loss. Wyatt was working for his father's construction company when his first original song, Everything Under the Sun, went viral on TikTok, drawing more than 100,000 views overnight and bringing label interest; he signed with Music Soup and Darkroom Records. He released the EPs Til the Sun Goes Down in 2024 and Out of the Blue in 2025. The singles Arkansas Diamond, which has passed fifty million streams, and Jailbreak are both certified gold, and he has recorded collaborations with Bayker Blankenship, Willow Avalon and Wyatt Flores. His debut album, Dustpiles, arrived on July 17, 2026: sixteen songs running about fifty-five minutes, written across Nashville, Oklahoma and Arkansas without a fixed deadline and marking his first work with outside co-writers and producers, among them Carter Faith, Joe Becker, Tofer Brown and Anderson East. Reviewers characterized the record as down-and-out storytelling about broken hearts and faded ambitions rather than youthful optimism. He made his Grand Ole Opry debut on July 22, 2026, has won multiple Arkansas Country Music Awards, and was named to Billboard's 21 Under 21 list in 2026.
