The Arcadian Wild
bluegrass · folk · americana
The Arcadian Wild is a Nashville acoustic string band working at the intersection of folk, progressive bluegrass and formal vocal music. It began in the fall of 2013 as a collaboration among choir students at Lipscomb University in Nashville, with an original lineup of Isaac Horn, Lincoln Mick, Sarah Wood and Everett Davis; Wood left in 2017 and has since recorded as Juniper Vale. The band is led by songwriters Horn on guitar and Mick on mandolin, with Bailey Warren on fiddle, who joined in 2020, and it fills out its touring and recording lineup with Erik Coveney and Eli Broxham, having played and recorded with that configuration since early 2020. The members' choral training shapes the arrangements, which set close, formally voiced harmony against string-band picking on a guitar, mandolin and fiddle front line, and the group describes its material as songs of invitation. The Arcadian Wild has released three full-length albums, the self-titled The Arcadian Wild (2015), Finch in the Pantry (2019, on AntiFragile Music) and Welcome (July 2023), along with five EPs issued between 2014 and 2024 and a series of standalone singles; Welcome followed several years in which the band concentrated on singles and EPs rather than albums. It is booked by High Road Touring and works a national circuit of listening rooms, theaters, and folk and bluegrass festivals.
