Shonen Knife

Shonen Knife is a Japanese pop-punk band formed in Osaka in December 1981, built around founding guitarist and singer Naoko Yamano. The trio combines 1960s girl-group and Beach Boys melody with Ramones-style punk, singing in Japanese and English. Nirvana invited the band to open a 1991 European tour and later covered its song Twist Barbie.
