Kurt Vile is an indie rock and folk rock singer-songwriter from Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, outside Philadelphia, who tours with his backing band the Violators. A co-founder of the War on Drugs in 2005, he left to go solo and signed to Matador Records in 2009, releasing albums including Smoke Ring for My Halo (2011) and B'lieve I'm Goin Down... (2015).
