Flow Tribe is a six-piece New Orleans band formed in 2004 by a group of friends from Brother Martin High School, playing a mix of funk, rhythm and blues, rock, hip-hop and zydeco they describe as backbone cracking music. The group reconvened in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina, when members returned to the city to help rebuild, and has been a fixture of the New Orleans club and festival circuit since. Its lineup includes K.C. O'Rorke on vocals and trumpet, Scott Sibley on drums, Kyle Chervanik on bass and vocals, Evan Oberla on trombone, keys and vocals, and Bryan Santos on guitar. Recordings include Pregnant With A Baby Called Funk (2008), Pain Killer (2012), the concert album At Capacity Live: Live at Tipitina's (2013), Alligator White (2014), BOSS (2017), Loteria Cosmica (2020) and Garden of Earthly Delights (2024). BOSS was produced by New Orleans hip-hop producer Mannie Fresh. The band has worked with Allen Toussaint, Irma Thomas, Big Freedia and Ivan Neville of Dumpstaphunk. It has appeared at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, the Voodoo Music Experience, French Quarter Festival, Gretna Heritage Festival and South by Southwest, and has toured nationally since 2010. Flow Tribe was featured in an episode of MTV's The Real World: New Orleans that aired September 8, 2010, which brought the band national exposure early in its touring career. On stage the group builds around a two-piece horn front line, percussion and washboard, drawing on second-line rhythms and Louisiana zydeco alongside funk and rock, and it plays long sets built for dancing rather than fixed arrangements.
