Xenolinguist

Xenolinguist is a Denver, Colorado electronic producer working in deep dubstep, halftime and left-field bass, and describing the output as alien bass music. The project is prolific and almost entirely self-released: more than thirty titles sit on its Bandcamp page, with the records credited as written, produced, mixed and mastered by Xenolinguist alone. The four-track EP Coastal arrived in July 2021. Hive Mind followed in May 2025, a three-song set built at 140 BPM around the tracks Hive Mind, Addicted to the Drama and Lights Down Low; its notes frame the record around a question of whether a listener operates only for personal gain or contributes to a collective good, and the cover art is credited to Quinn Hennessy and the artist. The nine-track album Equanimity, released in July 2026, is the longest statement so far, running from Pastel Sunset and Kindheart through Droste VIP and Gridlock to the closing A Lingering Iridescence. Shorter releases include Izzo with The Autonym, Cyber with Spirah, and standalone singles such as Brace Yourself, Dial Tone, Galactic Bloom, Perfect Landing and Innerchild. Xenolinguist is affiliated with a spread of independent bass-music labels and collectives, among them Street Ritual, Wormhole, all:lo, Lostinsound, Abysmal Entities, Oddio.files and Gavatri. In Denver the project performs at rooms including Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom, a hub for the city's psychedelic bass circuit.
