Ty Myers is a country singer-songwriter from Austin, Texas, born on July 12, 2007, whose music blends country with blues, rock and soul. He grew up on his family's cattle ranch outside Austin, took up guitar around age seven and was writing songs by eight, encouraged by a songwriter father; he is a nephew of Dean Sams of the band Lonestar and is related to Ronnie Huckaby, longtime pianist in George Strait's Ace in the Hole Band. His first audience came through a TikTok account his mother set up while he was recovering from a high school football injury, and the ballad Tie That Binds circulated widely in 2023, drawing label interest. He signed with Columbia Records and Starstruck Management, and further singles, among them Thought It Was Love and Ends of the Earth, pushed him past streaming figures most Texas newcomers take years to reach. The EP Ends of the Earth appeared in late 2024, its title track reaching number 20 on Hot Country Songs and number 72 on the Billboard Hot 100. His debut album, The Select, followed on January 24, 2025, co-produced by Tommy Detamore and Brandon Hood and later expanded as a deluxe edition. Myers reunited with Hood for the second album, Heavy on the Soul, released March 27, 2026 through Records and Columbia Nashville and cut at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama; he wrote eleven of its seventeen songs alone, and the title acknowledges the soul recordings made in that room. He names George Strait, Otis Redding, Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Mayer among his influences, and his sets lean heavily on his own lead guitar playing. In 2026 he opened arena dates for Luke Combs on the My Kinda Saturday Night Tour while headlining theaters and amphitheaters of his own.
