The Jungle Giants

The Jungle Giants are an indie pop and indie rock band from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, formed in 2011 by four classmates from Mansfield State High School. Sam Hales sings and plays guitar and is the band's principal songwriter and producer; Cesira Aitken plays lead guitar, Andrew Dooris plays bass and Keelan Bijker plays drums, a lineup unchanged since the group started. Their debut album Learn to Exist appeared in 2013 and reached number 12 in Australia, followed by Speakerzoid in 2015, which peaked at 25, and Quiet Ferocity in 2017, which peaked at 11 and won Best Independent Album at the 2018 AIR Awards. The 2019 single Heavy Hearted became the commercial breakthrough, placing eighth in triple j's Hottest 100 for that year, charting at 61 on the ARIA singles chart and taking Best Independent Dance or Electronica Album at the 2020 AIR Awards; Sending Me Ur Loving followed in 2020 and reached 55. Love Signs, released in 2021, went to number one on the Australian albums chart and was named Album of the Year at the 2022 Queensland Music Awards. A fifth album, Experiencing Feelings of Joy, arrived in 2026 and peaked at number three. The band releases through Amplifier Music, and Hales's turn toward dance-oriented production across Quiet Ferocity and Love Signs moved the group from guitar-led indie rock toward electronic pop without changing the four-piece format. The Jungle Giants tour internationally, including United States club dates such as Globe Hall in Denver.
