The Howard/Hughes Project is an American traditional and contemporary bluegrass band based in Northern Virginia, led by husband-and-wife multi-instrumentalists Lisa Kay Howard-Hughes (mandolin, vocals) and Wally Hughes (fiddle, Dobro, vocals). Formed after long tenures in Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike and Level Best, the ensemble features driving fiddle and dobro work, high lonesome vocal harmonies, and dynamic bluegrass arrangements alongside guitarist Jack Dunlap, banjoist Dean Phillips, and bassist Joe Hannabach. The band tours festivals and concert halls internationally.
