The Glorious Sons

The Glorious Sons are a Canadian rock band from Kingston, Ontario, formed in 2011, whose sound draws on alternative, hard, Southern and heartland rock. The group is fronted by singer and guitarist Brett Emmons alongside his brother Jay Emmons on guitar, with drummer Adam Paquette, pianist Josh Hewson, bassist Peter Van Helvoort and guitarist Steve Kirstein filling out the current six-piece lineup. The band signed to the Canadian independent label Black Box Music in 2013 and released its debut EP, Shapeless Art, through the label that November. Its studio albums are The Union (2014), which went gold in Canada, Young Beauties and Fools (2017), which went platinum and was issued with Earache and BMG, A War on Everything (2019), also gold, and Glory, released in September 2023 on the band's own TGS Records; a second EP, The Young King Sessions, appeared in 2022. The single Everything Is Alright topped Canadian alternative rock radio and picked up airplay on BBC Radio 1, giving the band a foothold outside Canada. They were nominated for the Juno Award for Rock Album of the Year in 2015 and won it twice, in 2018 and 2020. The Glorious Sons have toured extensively across North America and have shared bills with or supported Airbourne, The Trews, 10 Years, Greta Van Fleet and The Struts, alongside a heavy festival schedule. Their most recent release is the single New Plan.
