The Devon Allman Project

The Devon Allman Project is the touring band of blues and rock guitarist and singer Devon Allman. Born Devon Lane Allman in Corpus Christi, Texas, on August 10, 1972, he is the son of Gregg Allman and built his own career largely outside his father's orbit before the two connected. He led Honeytribe from 1999, releasing Torch in 2006 and Space Age Blues in 2010, then co-founded the supergroup Royal Southern Brotherhood with Cyril Neville and Mike Zito in 2011, recording three albums with that band through 2014. A solo run followed with Turquoise in 2013, Ragged and Dirty on Ruf Records in 2014 and Ride or Die in 2016. In 2018 he formed the Allman Betts Band with Duane Betts, son of Dickey Betts, issuing Down to the River in 2019 and Bless Your Heart in 2020. More recent releases include Miami Moon in 2024 and Blues Summit in 2025, the latter toured with guests including Jimmy Hall, Larry McCray and Sierra Green. The Project is the vehicle that gathers all of this into one set. Its current framing is a retrospective billed as Twenty Years Strong, marking two decades since Allman's debut album and first national tour, and the show pulls from the Allman Betts Band, Blues Summit, Royal Southern Brotherhood and Honeytribe catalogs, from his collaborations with Donavon Frankenreiter, and from Allman Brothers Band and Gregg Allman material. The band works blues, rock, soul and extended improvisation into a contemporary Southern sound, and has played festivals and theaters across the United States and Europe, including performing arts centers such as the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
