The Band Perry is an American country group from Greeneville, Tennessee, formed in 2005 by siblings Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry. Kimberly had played solo as a teenager with her younger brothers working as roadies before the three formed the act; they were picked up by Garth Brooks' manager Bob Doyle in 2008 and signed to Republic Nashville in August 2009. Their self-titled debut album arrived in October 2010 and sold roughly 1.6 million copies, carried by the Diamond-certified single If I Die Young, which topped the country chart and reached number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100. All Your Life, Better Dig Two and Done also went to number one on country radio, and the 2013 album Pioneer reached number two on the Billboard 200. The trio took the 2011 Country Music Association awards for new artist, single and song, and won the Grammy for Best Country Duo or Group Performance in 2015 for a recording of Glen Campbell's Gentle on My Mind. They performed at the Super Bowl XLVIII pre-game show in February 2014. A move to Interscope and Mercury Nashville in 2016 produced a pop album, My Bad Imagination, that was ultimately shelved; the group then went independent, releasing the Coordinates EP in 2018 with Rick Rubin as executive producer, and announced a hiatus in March 2023. Kimberly Perry made her Grand Ole Opry debut and released the solo EP Bloom that year. In 2025 she reactivated the act on Nashville Harbor Records with her husband Johnny Costello on mandolin and background vocals in place of Neil Perry.
