Subtronics is the stage name of Jesse Kardon, an American dubstep producer and DJ born December 23, 1992, in Philadelphia. He played drums as a child, found electronic dance music in high school and began releasing under the alias in 2013, with early records including the 3K Free EP (2015) and tracks issued through Prime Audio, Never Say Die and SubCarbon Records before he founded his own label, Cyclops Recordings, in 2020. His 2019 collaboration with GRiZ, Griztronics, reached No. 9 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and became a TikTok fixture with hundreds of millions of video views; that September he also placed No. 10 on Billboard's Next Big Sound chart. The album FRACTALS (2022) debuted at No. 4 on the US Dance/Electronic Albums chart, its remix companion ANTIFRACTALS (2023) also reached No. 4, and TESSERACT (2024) entered at No. 5. The two-part FIBONACCI arrived through Cyclops Recordings in 2025. DJ Mag North America named him DJ of the Year in 2023, the same year he staged a three-day Cyclops Dome takeover of the Tacoma Dome in Washington built around a ceiling of motorized LED panels. He runs the Cyclops Cove festival, which expanded to three days in 2024, and has held a residency at Wynn Las Vegas. He is married to the dubstep producer Level Up. His recurring Cyclops Rocks event at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, has become a regular fixture of his calendar, and the 2026 FIBONACCI tour, his first full-scale headline run in two years, covers twenty-five dates between January and May, Red Rocks among them.
