Struggle Jennings

Struggle Jennings is an American country rap artist born William Curtis Harness Jr. on 31 May 1980 in Nashville, Tennessee. He took his stage surname from outlaw country singer Waylon Jennings, the second husband of his grandmother Jessi Colter; his mother, Jennifer Eddy, is the daughter of Colter and guitarist Duane Eddy, and Shooter Jennings is his uncle. He started selling mixtapes out of his car around 2002, was imprisoned on drug charges in 2011 and released in 2016, then joined Yelawolf's Slumerican roster alongside Bubba Sparxxx. His best-known work is the Waylon & Willie series of collaborative albums with Jelly Roll, released in four volumes between 2017 and 2020; the singles Fall in the Fall (2017) and God We Need You Now (2020) are both certified gold by the RIAA. Solo releases include The Widow's Son and Angels & Outlaws, both from 2019, Monte Carlo (2023) and El Camino (2024). He runs the Nashville label Angels & Outlaws, through which he has worked to build the independent careers of his daughter Brianna Harness and of Caitlynne Curtis. His most recent album, Last Name, appeared on 13 March 2026 with thirteen songs he co-wrote with Michael Whitworth, Jackson Nance, David Ray and, on the title track, Zakk Garner, produced by Ned Cameron and issued on streaming, vinyl and cassette. It features Jelly Roll on Only God Knows, Brianna Harness on I See the Way and Caitlynne Curtis on Broken People, and takes as its subject the two surnames he carries and the family patterns he has tried to break. The Last Name Tour that followed ran from March into June 2026 with Cody Parks and the Dirty South and Laura Bryna in support.
