Staind is an American rock band formed in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1995, made up of vocalist Aaron Lewis, guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist Johnny April and drummer Sal Giancarelli. Associated with post-grunge, alternative metal and nu metal, the band topped the Billboard 200 with Break the Cycle (2001), 14 Shades of Grey (2003) and Chapter V (2005).
