Soda Blonde is a Dublin alt-pop band formed in 2019 by four former members of Little Green Cars: singer Faye O'Rourke, guitarist Adam O'Regan, bassist Donagh Seaver-O'Leary and drummer Dylan Lynch. Little Green Cars had formed in Dublin in 2008 as a five-piece alongside singer Stevie Appleby, signed to Glassnote Records, and entered the Irish albums chart at number one with Absolute Zero in 2013 before Ephemera reached number two in 2016. That band announced its split in March 2019, and the remaining four regrouped under a new name within months, moving from the group-harmony indie rock of their teens toward pop centered on O'Rourke's voice. Soda Blonde introduced itself with the EPs Terrible Hands in 2019 and Isolation Content in 2020. The debut album Small Talk followed in 2021 and was nominated for the Choice Music Prize, Ireland's principal album award. Dream Big, released in September 2023, is a bolder and more experimental record and was named the best Irish album of 2023 by the Irish Independent; it produced the single Midnight Show, and the band followed it with the standalone singles Bully and The Saddest Thing in 2024. A further EP, People Pleaser, arrived in 2025. The group tours as a four-piece.
