Tribute to Elvis Presley

rock · pop rock

Shawn Klush is an American Elvis Presley tribute artist, born June 17, 1969 in Pittston, Pennsylvania, a coal-mining town in the state's northeast. He began performing at Pocono resorts before winning the $5,000 Worldwide Elvis Competition in Montreal, then starred as Elvis in the Legends in Concert production in Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach and Atlantic City. He took the grand prize at the $25,000 World Elvis Tribute Artist Competition in 2005 and was voted World's Greatest Elvis by an audience of 6.5 million viewers on BBC One in the United Kingdom in 2007. Later that year, on August 16, the thirtieth anniversary of Presley's death, he won the first Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, staged by Elvis Presley Enterprises in Memphis during Elvis Week, making him the inaugural holder of that title. He has also received the Gibson Guitar Company's Best Concert Elvis award and was inducted into the Luzerne County Arts and Entertainment Hall of Fame in 2024. Klush tours internationally with a full concert production, frequently billed alongside other contest winners on the Elvis Tribute Artist World Tour, and has performed with musicians and singers from Presley's own circle, among them The Jordanaires, The Imperials, DJ Fontana and The Sweet Inspirations, whose original members have backed his shows. On screen he played Elvis in the CBS and VH1 miniseries Shake, Rattle and Roll and in HBO's Vinyl in 2016, and he performed on the Late Show with David Letterman in 2013. His sets draw on Presley's concert repertoire, including Polk Salad Annie, Promised Land and Stand By Me.
