Seedhe Maut
hip hop
Seedhe Maut is an Indian hip hop duo based in New Delhi, made up of rappers Encore ABJ (Abhijay Negi) and Calm (Siddhant Sharma). The two met through the Delhi battle-rap league Spit Dope Inc. and formed the group in 2015, taking a name drawn from slang for giving something its full potential. They released the EP 2 Ka Pahada in 2017 and signed to the independent label Azadi Records the same year, following it with their debut studio album Bayaan in 2018. Their second album, Nayaab, arrived in May 2022 and was produced end to end by Sez on the Beat; across sixteen tracks it follows three friends trying to break out of their circumstances and sets Delhi's grandeur against its grime. A 2021 mixtape titled Na and the 2023 project Lunch Break closed out their run with Azadi. In 2024 the pair left the label and founded their own imprint, DL91 Era, releasing the paired projects Shakti and Kshama that year and DL91 FM in 2025. They rap primarily in Hindi, built on dense multisyllabic rhyme schemes and the contrast between Encore ABJ's harder delivery and Calm's more melodic one. Collaborators over the years include Prabh Deep, MC Stan, KRSNA, Ritviz, Faris Shafi, Badshah and the British group Foreign Beggars. After spending most of their first decade inside India's independent circuit, the duo have moved onto international stages: an SMX India run through late 2025 was followed by the SMX World Tour, a ten-country itinerary announced for 2026 whose North American leg opens in Philadelphia in June and continues through New York, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
