ROBYN

dance-pop · electro-disco · indietronica

Robyn is the stage name of Robin Miriam Carlsson, a Swedish singer, songwriter, producer and DJ born June 12, 1979 in Stockholm. She works in pop, electropop and dance-pop. Her debut album, Robyn Is Here (1995), was an unusual crossover for a Swedish teenager, producing two top-ten singles on the US Billboard Hot 100, including Show Me Love. After several albums released mainly in Sweden, she broke with her major label in 2005 and founded her own imprint, Konichiwa Records, to keep creative control. The self-titled Robyn (2005) that followed traded teen-pop gloss for spare, experimental synth-pop, earned strong reviews and Grammy recognition, and produced With Every Heartbeat, her collaboration with Swedish producer Kleerup, which reached number one on the UK singles chart in 2007. The three-part Body Talk series in 2010 established her internationally and contained Dancing On My Own, a slow-building signature song that Rolling Stone later placed at number 20 on its list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. Honey (2018) arrived after a long break and moved toward warmer, more hypnotic club music, and Sexistential, her ninth studio album, followed in 2026. She is routinely credited with pioneering the pairing of emotional vulnerability with dance-floor production, and has been cited as an influence by Carly Rae Jepsen, Lorde, Charli XCX and Taylor Swift. The Sexistential Tour, announced in February 2026 and presented by Live Nation, is only her third headline concert tour: roughly 25 shows across Europe, North America and Oceania between June and November 2026, with support across the run from Erika de Casier, Peaches, Lykke Li and Romy Madley Croft, and sets that mix the new record with the Body Talk-era catalog.
