Rio Rosa is a soul and jam band based in Boulder, Colorado, built around gospel-inflected lead vocals, Hammond organ and improvisation, with roots, Latin and swampy rock influences in the mix. The lineup is Alyssa Medina on lead vocals, Max Mackey on lead guitar and vocals, Paul Constantine on Hammond B3 organ, keyboards and vocals, Paul Cohen, who performs as Dr. Poz, on bass and tenor saxophone, and Shaun Gilmour on drums, percussion and vocals. Medina is a Colorado vocalist who has performed at Red Rocks Amphitheatre; Mackey is a Fort Collins guitarist and songwriter who also plays in the Colorado Grateful Dead tribute band Peak2Peak; Cohen is a longtime fixture of the Colorado scene who works as an anesthesiologist; and Gilmour's drumming draws on New Orleans groove alongside rock. The band released its debut single, Mother, Mother, in January 2026. It works the Front Range circuit steadily, playing breweries, hotel rooms, town arts festivals and Denver clubs.
