PRESIDENT
PRESIDENT is an anonymous British rock band, formed in 2025, whose music sets metalcore against electronics and alternative pop. Its four members perform masked and under aliases: The President on vocals and production, Heist on guitars, Protest on bass and Vice on drums. No names, faces or biographies have been released, and the group was developed in secrecy until it surfaced on the 2025 Download Festival bill. Its first single, In the Name of the Father, appeared in May 2025, followed by Fearless in June and Rage in July, and then by the debut EP King of Terrors on 26 September 2025. The band signed to Atlantic Records in February 2026 and put out the singles Angel Wings in February and Doom Loop in May before announcing its first album, Blood of Your Empire, for 4 September 2026. The ten-track record takes its cover from Eugene Delacroix's painting The Battle of Poitiers, held in the Louvre, and includes Dark Heaven, Pink Noise, Mercy, Sleepwalker, Dionysus, This Will Divide Us, Hate Figure with guest vocals from Ando San, and White Devil. The frontman has described the album as the product of his own existential crisis and an attempt to make sense of belief, mortality and humanity's relationship with faith, and has framed Doom Loop as a song about how time is chased, wasted and feared before its value is recognised. Press and listeners have widely identified the singer as Charlie Simpson of Busted and Fightstar, an attribution the band declines to confirm. A North American headline run tied to the release, from early September to mid-October 2026, sold out in advance.
