Pete 'Dr. Banjo' Wernick

Pete Wernick, known as Dr. Banjo, is a five-string banjo player, author and bluegrass educator based in Niwot, Colorado. Born in New York City in 1946, he co-founded Country Cooking and Hot Rize, served as the first president of the International Bluegrass Music Association from 1986 to 2001, and created the Wernick Method network of bluegrass teaching camps. He is a member of the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame.
