Periphery is a progressive metal band formed in Washington, D.C. in 2005 and widely credited as a pioneer of djent. The lineup is guitarists Misha Mansoor, Jake Bowen and Mark Holcomb, vocalist Spencer Sotelo and drummer Matt Halpern. Their albums include Periphery II: This Time It's Personal (2012), Hail Stan (2019) and Djent Is Not a Genre (2023), released through Sumerian, Century Media and their own 3DOT Recordings.
