Of A Feather

americana · folk · roots

Of a Feather is an Americana, country and southern rock duo based in the Nashville area, made up of Kelly Hunt and Sara Morgan. Both had established solo careers before pairing up. Hunt is from Memphis, Tennessee, plays a Depression-era calf-skin tenor banjo alongside self-taught guitar, and released the album Even the Sparrow in 2019, which was a finalist for Album of the Year at the International Folk Music Awards; she followed it with Ozark Symphony on Compass Records, produced with Dirk Powell at Cypress House, and a third record, Requiem for a Sleepless Night, in 2026. Morgan comes from McGehee, Arkansas, records through River Delta Records, and cut her album Inheritance in Nashville with producer Eric Conn on the title track, alongside singles including Another Nail, Church in a Bar and Dirty Hands. What began as an occasional collaboration between friends became a standing partnership, and the two now write together: their co-written singles include Wild Cotton and No Man's Land, and their working repertoire also takes in Muscadine and Big Machine. They describe the result as classic southern rock crossed with country and Americana, built on two-part harmony rather than a single lead voice. The duo tours widely across the United States, playing the Midwest, Northeast, South and Southwest, and appears on festival bills including Crossroads Music Fest in Kansas City.
