Novel Jazz Septet is a Maine-based seven-piece jazz ensemble, formed around 2004, that focuses on the music of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. The group researches and arranges material drawn from archives including the Duke Ellington Collection at the Smithsonian and the Strayhorn Collection at the Library of Congress, presenting the music alongside its history in concert.
