None of the Above is a five-piece acoustic band based in Pinnacle, North Carolina, that has played the Piedmont Triad area for more than 25 years. The members are all Triad natives: Tim Sands on lead guitar and vocals, Tim Harrison on upright bass, David Crawford on mandolin, Lee Cecil on dobro and Jon Cornatzer on banjo. Sands, who lives between Pinnacle and Pilot Mountain, writes most of the group's original material and calls himself its chief nit-picker. Using traditional bluegrass instrumentation, the band mixes bluegrass with Americana, alternative country, folk, rock and originals, and presents itself as an ensemble rather than a vehicle for individual soloists. Its album All Points In Between collects 14 tracks that set the band's own songs alongside standards such as Old Joe Clark and Hickory Wind, and a second record, Scarecrows and Devils, followed in 2022. The group was a finalist in the 2019 MerleFest band competition, and works a regional circuit of community centers, campgrounds, barbecue joints and benefit concerts across northwest North Carolina.
