Nnenna Freelon

Nnenna Freelon is an American jazz vocalist, composer and arranger, born in 1954 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She signed with Columbia Records in 1992 and with Concord Records in 1996, releasing albums including Shaking Free, Maiden Voyage, Soulcall and Blueprint of a Lady: Sketches of Billie Holiday. She has received seven Grammy nominations and has performed with Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and Herbie Hancock.
