Mrs. Nezbitt
Mrs. Nezbitt is a rock band from Denver, Colorado, credited on record as a duo of songwriter and guitarist Michael Haran and drummer Anthony Gremp, with Carter Keller engineering and, more recently, fronting the group as vocalist. The three met in 2018 through the recording arts program at CU Denver and spent several years with no singer, working up instrumental material through the pandemic before Keller stepped to the microphone. The music draws on post-hardcore, math rock and Midwest emo, with the band naming Hot Mulligan, Prince Daddy and the Hyena, Heart to Gold and Origami Angel alongside the technical side of Dance Gavin Dance. Its self-released catalogue opens with Instrumental Demos, issued January 10, 2024, six tracks the band recorded, mixed and mastered itself during 2020 quarantine, among them Last Month You Were Dead and Identity Theft is Not a Joke, Jim. The four-song EP This Could've Been an Email followed on March 30, 2024, led by the debut single Jeopardy, and a run of standalone singles including layman's terms, spider heads and psychic tandem war elephant came after. A ten-track album, This Is A Reference., collects songs such as return to sender, academy training and sausage king of chicago; the band set its release show for August 29, 2026 at Lost Lake Lounge in Denver. Mrs. Nezbitt plays mainly Denver's DIY and small-club circuit, with billings at rooms including Globe Hall and Lost Lake.
