Metric is a Canadian indie rock band formed in Toronto in 1998 by singer and keyboardist Emily Haines and guitarist James Shaw, later joined by bassist Joshua Winstead and drummer Joules Scott-Key. The band pairs new wave and electronic textures with rock and has won three Juno Awards.
