McLain Family Band

The McLain Family Band is an American bluegrass group founded in Hindman, Kentucky in 1968 by Raymond K. McLain and his children. Playing an acoustic mix of bluegrass, gospel and regional Appalachian tunes, the band toured 63 countries under State Department sponsorship and has appeared at the Grand Ole Opry, Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. It received the International Bluegrass Music Association's Distinguished Achievement Award.
