Martha Spencer is an old-time and country singer, multi-instrumentalist and flatfoot dancer from Whitetop, Virginia, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Raised in a three-generation musical family alongside fiddler Thornton Spencer and banjoist Emily Spencer, she plays guitar, fiddle, banjo, bass, dulcimer and mandolin and performs with the Whitetop Mountain Band and her own groups.
