Lonesome River Band

The Lonesome River Band is an American bluegrass group formed in 1982 and led by banjo player Sammy Shelor, who joined in 1990 and has managed the band since 2000. The group broke through with the 1991 album Carrying the Tradition and has released more than a dozen records; Shelor is a five-time IBMA Banjo Player of the Year and received the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass in 2011.
