Lazy Summer Home

Lazy Summer Home is a Denver, Colorado jam band led by guitarist and vocalist Jack Henderson, its name taken from a Grateful Dead song. The group grew out of a recurring Sunday jam session called Snurch, short for Snail Church, which merged with Henderson's Grateful Dead band. Alongside Henderson the lineup has included Ryan Dillow on guitar, piano and vocals, Joe Bob Pierce on bass and vocals, and Richie Buchborn on piano, guitar and vocals; all four sing, and the band describes its material as drawing on the Grateful Dead, Phish and Ween. Sets favour exploratory, improvisation-led playing over rehearsed arrangement. Most of the catalogue is self-released live recording issued through Bandcamp rather than studio work. The Taco Tapes, a 42-track acoustic session recorded in Fairplay, Colorado in August 2023, was deliberately left unmixed so that the varied volume and room sound of a raw jam session survive on the tape. It sits alongside Alive and Acoustic in Conifer, Colorado, Live in Arvada, CO 7.12.2025, EstFest '25, two sets recorded at the TRN Grandview, Stella Blue 3.7.2026, The Thorntonfest Bootleg 6.8.2026 and Pete's Picks: Backyard Boogie. Those recordings trace a circuit of small Front Range rooms and local festivals, with Fairplay, Conifer, Arvada and Thornton all represented.
