Julez and the Rollerz

Julez and the Rollerz is an all-female rock band based in Los Angeles, formed in 2021 around singer, guitarist and songwriter Jules Batterman. Shea Carothers joined on synth and vocals in 2021, Morgyn Payge on bass and vocals in 2022, and Sarah Park, who goes by Spark, took the drum seat while the group was preparing to tour. The band works a glam-rock and 1970s-riff vein with garage bite and power-pop hooks, and Batterman's delivery has been compared to Marc Bolan and Joan Jett. Their debut EP, Is This Where the Party Is?, came out in 2023, and the debut album Dirty Little Rock 'N' Roller followed on 26 June 2026 through Lolipop Records. Its nine tracks, among them Time, Phaser, I Don't Know You, Call Me Up, I Need Love and Bring It On, were recorded at Tiny Creatures Studios in Yucca Valley, California, and produced, engineered and mixed by Alex Newport, with Hannah Hughes adding lead guitar to four songs and Joey Ponchetti drumming. I Need Love was premiered by Atwood Magazine in May 2026. The band toured the Pacific Northwest in autumn 2024 as direct support for Moonwalker, and has played Freakout Fest in Seattle and Psyched Fest in San Francisco in 2024, Echo Park Rising in 2025 and Happy Sundays Festival in 2022 and 2025, sharing bills with The Velveteers, Girltones and Chokecherry at rooms including The Echo in Los Angeles and the Mission Theater in Portland. Coverage has come from FLOOD, Bandcamp Daily, CREEM, The Alternative and Punknews, and the group has recorded a Jam in the Van session.
