James Collins, who performs as James "Stymie" Collins, is an Asheville, North Carolina guitarist and vocalist with Phuncle Sam, the improvisational jam band formed there in October 2004 that plays original material alongside Grateful Dead interpretations. He appears regularly in Asheville's Grateful Dead community, including all-star tribute bills at The Grey Eagle.
