ISOxo is the stage name of Julian Isorena, an American DJ and producer from San Diego, California, working in trap, hybrid trap and experimental bass music. He began producing as a teenager and met Richard Nakhonethap, the producer known as Knock2, at fourteen, when the two were booked to DJ at the San Diego County Fair; the meeting led to years of collaboration and eventually to the duo ISOKNOCK. Isorena records for 88rising, the Asian-American label and media company founded by Sean Miyashiro, where he and Knock2 were the first electronic acts signed. His debut solo album, kidsgonemad!, was released by 88rising on 20 October 2023 and runs thirteen tracks in about forty minutes; the production is built on bright, detuned synth leads and heavily chopped vocal fragments set against distorted half-time drums, an approach usually filed under left-field or experimental bass. ISOKNOCK released its own debut album, 4EVR, through 88rising on 1 August 2024, an eight-track record moving between pop, future bass, hardstyle and electronic trap, with additional production from RL Grime. It was previewed by the single SMACK TALK in June 2024 and supported by a gallery premiere and short film in Los Angeles, a hometown San Diego headline show, and the 4EVR tour. The duo played Coachella in 2024. ISOxo has also appeared at Ultra, at 88rising's own Head in the Clouds festival, and on Asian dates including Djakarta Warehouse Project and Bangkok's 808 Festival, and he headlines large North American rooms such as the Tabernacle in Atlanta.
