Imminence is a Swedish metalcore band from Trelleborg, formed in 2009 by vocalist and violinist Eddie Berg and guitarist Harald Barrett, who settled on the name Imminence in 2010. The current line-up adds Alex Arnoldsson on lead guitar and Christian Höijer on bass; Peter Hanström drummed with the band from 2011 until his departure in September 2025, and Fredrik Rosdahl and Max Holmberg preceded Höijer on bass. The group's signature is Berg's violin, which carries lead melodies over metalcore arrangements and pushes the material toward what reviewers have called symphonic or atmospheric metalcore. The band cites In Flames, Linkin Park and August Burns Red alongside Bon Iver and Sigur Rós among its influences. Its albums are I (2014, We Are Triumphant), This Is Goodbye (2017), Turn the Light On (2019) and Heaven in Hiding (2021), the last three for the German label Arising Empire; the self-released The Black (12 April 2024); and Axis Mundi, issued by Sumerian Records on 2 October 2026. The 2015 single "The Sickness" was the band's first breakout, and more recent tracks include "Death Shall Have No Dominion" and "God Fearing Man". Imminence signed with Sumerian in June 2026 and previewed Axis Mundi with "The Sword That Never Bends", "False Light" and "Crestfallen"; the album was produced by Berg and Barrett with Henrik Udd, with additional production from Drew Fulk and orchestration by Lukas Geppert, and features guest drums from Joakim Möller plus cello, piano and percussion players. The band headlined European and North American tours across 2024 and 2025, playing theatre-sized rooms in the United States.
