Hulvey is an American Christian hip-hop artist, singer and producer, born Christopher Michael Hulvey on January 13, 1999, in Brunswick, Georgia. He grew up in a southeast Georgia church, left college to pursue music in Atlanta, and supported himself with supermarket work, including custodial shifts, before signing with Reach Records in August 2019, a deal the label announced the following January. His first releases for Reach were the EPs Prelude and BRKNHRT., both issued in early 2020, and he appeared as a guest on labelmate Lecrae's album Restoration. His debut album Christopher followed in 2021, reaching number eight on Billboard's Top Christian and Gospel Albums chart and number 19 on the Top Rap Albums chart. The single Altar, later remixed with Ciara, peaked at number 25 on Hot Christian Songs and was certified gold by the RIAA, and his 2023 collaboration with Forrest Frank, No Longer Bound, climbed to number two on Spotify's Viral 50. Other singles from that period include Used By You, Love Like That and Fly Away. His second album, Cry, arrived in September 2024, peaked at number four on the Christian albums chart and won the 2025 GMA Dove Award for Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year. He has headlined the Beautiful Tour in 2023 and the All For You Tour in 2024, contributed a guest verse to Brandon Lake's King of Hearts, and joined Lake on the Summer Worship Nights Tour. In January 2026 he announced that Could Be Tonight, released that April, would be his final album for Reach Records; it reached number 12 on the Christian albums chart. His music leans on themes of gratitude, doubt and maturity, and his touring dates include rooms such as the Tabernacle in Atlanta and The Underground in Charlotte.
