Heart Tribe

Heart Tribe is a Fort Collins, Colorado indie folk collective formed in 2017 and led by singer and guitarist Stephanie Heart Powers. The current lineup also includes Simon Cabrera on percussion, Destin Muller on bass, Sarah Melby Yoder on flute and Juan "Chewie" Duarte on lead guitar, the most recent addition. The band describes what it plays as organic sanguine folk, building acoustic arrangements around Powers's vocals and songs that turn on healing, acceptance and common ground. Its self-titled debut album, released in October 2020, collects six tracks including Healing Waters, Isolation and Creatures, and was recorded and mixed at New Thought Studios in Loveland, Colorado, with an earlier lineup featuring Nathan Fry on cajon and piano, Jimmy Eads on bass and banjo, Kirsten Bolton on vocals and a children's chorus. The group plays regularly around Colorado's Front Range, at venues including Odell Brewing Company in Fort Collins and the Mishawaka Amphitheatre in the Poudre Canyon, and has recorded a session for community radio station KRFC's Live at Lunch series. It is listed with the Fort Collins Musicians Association.
