Hayley Williams

Hayley Williams is an American singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and a founding member of the rock band Paramore. She was born December 27, 1988, in Meridian, Mississippi, and moved to Franklin, Tennessee, at thirteen after her parents' divorce; Paramore formed there in 2004 around musicians she met locally. She is the only member to appear on all six of the band's studio albums, beginning with All We Know Is Falling in 2005, and shared the 2015 Grammy Award for Best Rock Song with Taylor York for Paramore's Ain't It Fun. Her guest vocal on B.o.B's Airplanes reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2010. Williams began a solo career with Petals for Armor in 2020, preceded by the single Simmer and released in stages as a sequence of EPs before the full album; she followed it with FLOWERS for VASES / descansos in 2021, a largely self-recorded and self-performed record made at home, and Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party in 2025, issued through her own label, Post Atlantic. The solo work moves away from Paramore's pop-punk framing toward sparer, groove- and texture-led arrangements. Billboard ranked her thirteenth on its 2023 list of the greatest rock lead singers, and Alternative Press readers voted her the second-greatest pop-punk vocalist. Her collaborators have included Taylor Swift, David Byrne and Turnstile. Away from music she co-founded Good Dye Young, a vegan and cruelty-free hair-dye company, in 2016, an outgrowth of the vivid hair colors she became identified with. She tours both under her own name and with Paramore, playing amphitheatres and arenas across North America.
