Hank, Pattie & the Current is a North Carolina bluegrass band built around banjo player Hank Smith and fiddler and lead singer Pattie Hopkins Kinlaw, who have performed together for more than a decade, with Billie Feather on guitar and Stevie Martinez on bass. The band folds classical, jazz, Motown and pop influences into its bluegrass, an approach it calls soulgrass, and its albums include Rise Above and Letters.
