Halle Dean

Halle Dean is an alternative folk singer-songwriter from East Lansing, Michigan, who is based in Denver, Colorado, where she is studying songwriting at the University of Colorado Denver. She began writing young, performing an original song for the first time in elementary school, and names Taylor Swift and Brandi Carlile among her influences. Her debut album show you care, released in September 2022, was made collaboratively with fellow CU Denver students; its ten songs include "chardonnay", "The Dugout", "Business Men's Slacks", "Blue Gray Eyes" and "Glass", with contributions from Sloan Taylor, Willow Jeffus and Ben Kane, and production by Jared Lipka. Her writing draws directly on her own life, including living with chronic illness, and she also uses her platform for human-rights advocacy. She performs solo, as a duo with Sloan Taylor, and with a backing band whose members include Jared Lipka on drums, Michael Amodeo on guitar, Gabby Langer on bass and vocals and Will Harrell on piano, several of whom also write with her. Denver rooms she has played include The Roxy and Your Mom's House.
