Groove ‘N Motion

Groove 'N Motion is a Denver, Colorado horn band, also billed as Groove 'N Motion & The Rocky Mountain Horns, whose repertoire spans classic rock, R&B, funk, soul, Latin and jazz. The group draws heavily on the horn-driven bands of the late 1960s and 1970s, naming Chicago, Tower of Power, Earth, Wind & Fire and Blood, Sweat & Tears as its principal reference points, and mixes that material with more recent pop and dance selections. At full strength the band fields roughly fourteen musicians, including a five-piece horn section, a rhythm section and five vocalists, and it lists a working catalog of more than 1,300 songs. It presents itself as a fixed ensemble rather than a pick-up group assembled per booking, and its members have played together in this and other Denver bands for many years. Most of the band's work is at weddings, corporate functions and private events, where it has been recognized by WeddingWire, The Knot and WeddingRule, but it also plays ticketed club and theater dates built around a single theme. One such show, Make Me Smile: The Music of Chicago, is scheduled for Nissi's Entertainment Venue in Lafayette, Colorado on August 28, 2026, and draws on more than fifty years of the Chicago catalog, including 25 or 6 to 4 and Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is, alongside selections from Tower of Power, Earth, Wind & Fire and Blood, Sweat & Tears.
