Elizabeth Nichols

country

Elizabeth Nichols is an American country singer-songwriter based in Nashville, born June 21, 2002 in Plano, Texas and raised on a farm near Louisville, Kentucky. She studied writing at Oral Roberts University and completed an MBA before committing to music, moving to Nashville in August 2024 to begin law school at Belmont University College of Law while writing and performing on the side. She left the program around January 2025 to pursue music full time. Nichols released her debut single, I Got a New One, in December 2024. Kelly Clarkson covered the song on her talk show in May 2025, and the resulting attention pushed Nichols' own version to the top of the iTunes country chart; Billboard named her its country rookie of the month that June. She had signed with Pulse Records in March 2025, and on November 1, 2025 she made her Grand Ole Opry debut. An unreleased satirical song of hers circulated widely on TikTok in October 2025, and she returned to The Kelly Clarkson Show in April 2026. Taste of Country included her among its 2026 artists to watch. Nichols writes narrative country songs and has said she deliberately declines to explain the symbolism in her lyrics, preferring that listeners arrive at their own readings. She tours as a headliner in clubs and listening rooms.
