DREW DUNBAR
Drew Dunbar is a Richmond, Virginia-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He spent more than a decade playing covers in Richmond-area restaurants and breweries before turning to his own material in 2019, a shift he traces to writing the song Usually, which opens on the line about usually being a pretty good guy who usually does not get treated this badly. He has released that single along with the EP Might As Well, and performs both solo and fronting a backing band, Drew Dunbar & the Loyal Skeptics, whose sets fold R&B and soul standards in with his own writing; billings describe the result as soul pop, classic soul and dreamy pop. He also records as half of the duo AMITY with Morgan Lynsey, and is represented by Freight Train Management. Richmond-area rooms he plays regularly include Reveler, a 100-seat listening room on West Cary Street where he has headlined with the Loyal Skeptics, and the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen.
