Don Was & The Pan-Detroit Ensemble is a project led by Detroit bassist and record producer Don Was, who came to prominence with the band Was (Not Was) and has served as president of Blue Note Records since January 2012. The ensemble released the album Groove in the Face of Adversity in 2025, drawing on rock, jazz, blues and funk.
