Dizgo is a jam band from Bloomington, Indiana, formed in 2016. The group grew out of attic jam sessions between childhood friends Andrew Pickel and Kevin Hinnefeld, and took its name from a word that came to Hinnefeld in a dream shortly before the band's first performance. The lineup filled out with Jake Evatt on keys and vocals and Justin Clark on drums, and the quartet plays improvisation-driven jamtronica that pulls on funk, soul and psychedelic rock, with guitar-led composed sections used as launch points for extended playing. Their studio work includes the albums Melt, released in 2024 and named for the idea of a show in which band and audience collapse into a single unit, along with Deeper and State of Constant Motion; the single Outer Space followed in November 2025. Dizgo has performed at festivals including Jam Cruise, Summer Camp, High Sierra, Secret Dreams and Domefest, and has shared bills with Goose, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, lespecial and Dogs in a Pile. The band also takes on one-off collaborative sets, among them a disco-themed performance with Natalie Brooke at The Ramble Festival in October 2025. Touring is the center of the operation rather than a supplement to it: the band carried more than thirty dates across 2026, working the same northeastern and midwestern club and theater circuit as peers such as Spafford, Octave Cat and Dogs in a Pile.
