DEAU EYES

Deau Eyes is the project of Richmond, Virginia songwriter Ali Thibodeau, working in an indie and folk-leaning rock vein that also takes in Americana, blues rock and indie soul. Thibodeau introduced the project with the single Paper Stickers, released December 11, 2018 and cut at Trace Horse Studios with Jacob Blizard and Collin Pastore producing alongside Thibodeau, Jake Finch on drums and Austin Webb on bass. The debut album Let It Leave followed on May 8, 2020 through the label Egghunt Records, again recorded at Trace Horse in Nashville with Pastore and Blizard producing and Ryan Schwabe mastering, and pressed in a vinyl edition of 500. The ten-song Legacies arrived June 10, 2022. In January 2026 Thibodeau revisited that record as Leaving Legacies (The Band Recordings), a six-track set cut with a full band at Go West Recording in Richmond: Hayes Cummings on guitars, Andrew Carper on bass, Charles Owens on saxophone and keys, Kofi Shepsu on drums, and Sammy Wilborn and Maggie Horan on background vocals, with Thibodeau producing, singing lead and playing rhythm guitar and Ryan Gary co-producing, engineering, mixing and mastering. She performs both solo and with a band, and turns up on Richmond songwriter bills alongside local peers.
