Dave Alvin is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist from Downey, California, working across roots rock, Americana, rockabilly and blues. He co-founded The Blasters with his brother Phil in 1979 and later played with X and The Knitters; his solo albums include King of California, and Public Domain won the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Folk Album.
